Frequently Asked Questions
To keep our customers informed and prepared, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions.
Can I choose a collision repair facility of my choice?
You are not obligated to choose a collision repair facility that your insurance company recommends. You are the owner of your vehicle and YOU CHOOSE THE SHOP AND AUTHORIZE THE REPAIRS. Insurance companies CANNOT tell you that you HAVE to take your vehicle to a specific repair facility.
Do I need more than one estimate?
No. No law requires you to get more than one estimate. You are the owner of your vehicle and choose where the repairs are performed. One estimate is all you need.
Where do I get a claim number?
Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company at the time you report your accident. If you have it already, just bring it in and we will take care of the rest. If you don’t already have one, we can assist you with obtaining one. At Premier Auto Body, Inc. we can assist you with every aspect of your claim.
Will the parts be ordered before I drop off my car for repair?
YES! We order parts so that they are generally all in the shop prior to your vehicle being dropped for repairs. That way we can complete your repairs as efficiently as possible. If your vehicle is unsafe to drive at the time we write the estimate, we will help you arrange for other transportation and order parts immediately.
What type of replacement parts will be used to repair my vehicle?
At Premier Auto Body, Inc. we write our estimates utilizing OEM factory parts. However, each insurance company has different requirements for types of parts utilized for repairs. Depending on the insurance company, we may look for and utilize Certified Aftermarket or Recycled factory parts for certain portions of your repair. If the insurance company requests those kind of parts, we will contact you and discuss it with you prior to utilizing them. If Joe has any concerns about the quality or safety of any part, he will not use it and we will address it directly with the insurance company. You can rest assured that your vehicle will be returned to pre-loss condition with the highest quality repair.
If my vehicles frame is damaged is the car a total loss?
No, not always. A car is a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company’s determined value of your vehicle. Our highly skilled technicians, utilizing our Chassis Liner frame rack and Chief Velocity Computerized Measuring system, can return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If it is determined that the frame section is bent beyond repair, some sections can be replaced.
Can you match my vehicle paint color?
Today’s modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of paint. At Premier Auto Body, Inc., we utilize the PPG Global paint system with computerized color matching. We are constantly upgrading its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle’s paint matches. Joe and our staff take special pride in our ability to match your vehicle’s finish.
Can I get other service work done on my car while it is in the body shop?
Yes. Just let us know what other work you would like done so that we can make the necessary arrangements. We offer basic mechanical services, glass replacement, and repair other non-related body damage.
How long will the repairs take?
Vehicle repair time is determined by the complexity of the damages. Premier Auto Body, Inc. will perform the repair in a timely manner without compromising our quality standards for the sake of time. The staff will advise you of an approximate completion date when the vehicle is dropped for repairs. They will notify you of any change to the timeline, for any reason, and you are always welcome to call or stop in to check on the status of your repairs.
How can I get a rental car?
If you need a rental car, we can help you make the necessary arrangements. There are a couple of local companies that rent vehicles. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy or if you are the claimant. Check your policy and/or call your insurance company to find out if you have rental coverage and what your specific limitations are. In the event that you do not have rental coverage, we offer loaner vehicles for use during the time we have your vehicle for repair. Talk with our staff when scheduling repairs to reserve a loaner vehicle for your needs.
Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?
Yes. Premier Auto Body, Inc. offers a LIMITED LIFETIME warranty on all repairs performed for as long as you own your vehicle.
Do I have to pay a deductible?
The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you aren’t sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and he or she will tell you the amount that you are responsible for, if any. The deductible is due in full to Premier Auto Body, Inc. when repairs are complete and you pick up your vehicle.
